Wage: $20.00 - $21.00 (DOE) -

Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho (GSEWNI) is a non-profit dedicated to empowering girls through the Girl Scout four pillars: life skills, STEM, outdoors, and entrepreneurship! We cover a massive area of 29 counties that stretches over 67,000 square miles, spanning from Central and Eastern Washington to Northern Idaho. Our headquarters is in Spokane, Washington, but we've got awesome staff in the Tri-Cities, Washington, and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Position Summary:
Be part of the Largest Girl Led entrepreneurial program in the world.  This position helps Girl Scouts engage in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale and the Fall Product Sale.  You will also provide direct customer service and administrative support for volunteers and caregivers

Essential Functions:

  • This position is on-site and works with the Product Program Director. This position directly supports the Girl Scout Cookie Program and the Fall Product Program, ensuring both are executed in a timely and fiscally responsible manner, delivering quality Girl Scout Programming to Girl Scouts in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho
  • Provides high level of customer service while working independently, taking initiative and constantly prioritizing workload in a fast-paced, creative, supportive environment
  • Provides administrative support through coordination of meetings, volunteer trainings, and logistics for events within the Product Program department, with seasonal support to other departments
  • Answers incoming calls/requests; engages in problem-solving and provide solutions; manages and responds appropriately to all inquiries including, but not limited to email, phone and walk-in customers
  • Maintains information, manages volunteer access, answers user questions, and communicates important deadlines to our volunteers and parents
  • Provides courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable support services to council staff and to volunteers and members. Coordinates with (and/or) train staff and volunteers as needed
  • Design and distribution of forms, fliers, volunteer agreements, parent agreements, rosters, spreadsheets and letters related to both product programs
  • Works with community partners to establish cookie booth sites. Receives, manages and processes appropriate paperwork for booth sites, agreements, and schedules. Sends follow-up communication with all stores
  • Seasonal management of council cookie cupboard, including receiving and issuing cookies and efficiently tracking documentation of all transactions
  • Travels to various areas of the council to deliver cookies, to participate in events and trainings, and for other seasonal duties, as needed
  • In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications: 

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Two years of experience providing excellent customer service within the hospitality, food service or retail industries
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize work, meet deadlines, work independently, take initiative in a fast-paced environment is required
  • Willingness to demonstrate a commitment to support the organization’s efforts to enhance the awareness, knowledge, and skills of volunteers, girls, and staff on issue of diversity, equity, inclusion
  • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds inside and outside the organization is required
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and vehicle with proof of insurance required
  • Ability to fulfill travel requirements across regional geography on a weekly basis along with occasional evening and weekend hours
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and use new web-based programs
  • Proficient in MS Office - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background search
  • Weekends and evenings required on a seasonal basis
  • Comfortable driving various sized vehicles, including cargo vans or box trucks on occasion

Physical Abilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

Regularly lift objects up 20 pounds and frequently up to 50 pounds, repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.  Climb, pull, stoop, kneel, crawl, twist and crouch while performing custodial duties.  Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and work in inclement weather.  Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors (no color blindness). The incumbent must be able to understand instructions and recognize hazardous or poisonous materials and/or products.  There may be some exposure to fumes, dust, and/or odors from cleaning chemicals.  Must be physically capable of working with and mixing custodial chemicals.  Must be physically capable of operating an automatic floor scrubber, carpet shampooer and a variety of vacuum cleaners to include upright, wet, and backpack vacuum

Work Environment:   

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will be exposed to extreme noise, heat, cold, or atmospheric conditions or to any workplace hazards or potential injuries that are more frequent than normal.  Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment is an integral part of this position, as is the ability to work with high-stress situations based on the nature of GSEWNI mission and daily work
